Randy Talbot is the Executive
Director of the University of Florida Alumni Association, a position he has
held since June 2004. He was raised in Coral Gables, Florida and attended the
University on a Football Scholarship
receiving all-SEC honors while earning a bachelors degree in Liberal Arts in
1975. Randy began his career in
Gainesville at the University of Florida as an Assistant Football Coach and
Assistant Director of Alumni Affairs.
He moved to the Admissions Office to initiate and develop the Merit Scholar
recruitment program and then joined
the Alumni Affairs Office as Associate Director in March 1980. He was named
director of the University's Annual Fund,
Gift Processing and Records in 1982 and three years later moved to the College
of Business as Director of Development.
He was hired away as General Manager for Russ Berrie and Company, Inc., in
Lakeland, Florida returning to
the University of Florida, College of Law in March of 1989 to direct their $10.5
million dollar Capital Campaign.
After successfully concluding the Law School Campaign he was asked to return to
the College of Business in
1996, where he coordinated a $53 million dollar Capital Campaign, raising $63
million before leaving
for Florida State in 1999 to become the Vice President of Constituent Programs.
There he directed seven colleges
and five schools including the John and Mabel Ringling Museum of Art in a $600
million dollar capitol campaign.
He was appointed Vice President for University Advancement at Utah State
University in June 2002, putting
in place their current Advancement Operations.
Randy is active in the
community with his church, and speaking engagements. He is a past president
of the F-Club at the University of Florida. He and his wife Susan have five
children with the youngest
just returning home from a church mission in Mongolia.
