Pro Career

2004: Saw his first game action as a Bill and first NFL action since 11/28/02 in the closing minutes vs. AZ (10/31) ...
in his second action of the season at SF (12/26), Matthews completed his first passes as a Bill, completing 2-of-3 for
44 yards and a touchdown for a passer rating of 149.3 ... his TD came on a 33-yard connection with rookie
WR Lee Evans in the fourth quarter ... it was his first pass completion and touchdown since 11/17/02

2003: Played in Cincinnati as the Bengals No. 2 quarterback for games 1-5 ... Was moved to No. 3 QB for games
6-12, as 2003 top draft pick Carson Palmer moved up to No.2 ... Returned to No. 2 QB for game 13-16 as coaches
wanted a veteran No. 2 QB during late-season playoff bid.

 
College Career

Starred under Steve Spurrier at the University of Florida, setting 50 school records and 19 Southeastern Conference marks …
Finished his college career with 9287 passing yards and 74 TDs … Had a 28-8 record as a starting QB, including
19-4 in SEC games … Led Florida to its first official SEC championship in 1991 … Earned SEC Player of the Year
honors in both 1990 and '91 … Finished fifth in Heisman Trophy balloting as a junior in 1991.
