May 20th 2006 was
International Gator Day. A day when all Great Gators get
together to try and do something for their community. The Gator Club®
of
Volusia County has decided to partner up with Halifax Habitat for Humanity
on
this day. The work day began at 8a.m. and ran until noon!
Water and light refreshments was provided.
We did not need to bring anything with us to the job site. We just wore old
comfortable clothing, and closed toe shoes.
Construction experience is was
definitely not required.
We did some
landscaping for the Farina family at 1395 Wright St.
in Daytona
and the house next
door too! The work consisted of some
sod laying, landscaping of plant
material
and mulch and general "final cleanup"
to get the property ready for the
dedication ceremony.
We had a very nice
number of Volunteers from our club, but maybe next year
we could see more of our Gator's support this fine Group.
Our Volunteers were:
Rob and Suzan Horner
(Rob organized this event and our hats off-Great job
Rob!)
President Jim Tobin and Virginia
Waikins
Gary and Bambi Morgan
Bob Barker and Donna Kearns
Jerry and Gayle Sheets
David Carter
Kevin Corr
Michael Libardi
Chris Kelly
Thanks to everyone who joined
us for a Great International Gator Day!!!!
