Our 13th Annual Gator Club® of Volusia County Scholarship Golf Tournament, was held on July 23, 2011.  We had an 8:30 am shotgun, 4 person scramble at Halifax Plantation GC in Ormond Beach.  Our field had 120 players.  Register early for this year's event to assure your spot! 

We had great trophies for the 1st 3 teams as well as trophies for the last place team.  We also had plenty of raffle prizes-this year 120.  This is a great hit with the players and as you can guess, if you don't come away with something...you just didn't have a lucky bone in your body! We had Sponsorships available, Orange & Blue Sponsor level, Gator Sponsor level and Hole Sponsor level.  It is because of those Sponsors that our Tournament has been such a success over the years.......THANKS SPONSORS!

Get your entry form and sign up now for next year's 2012, 14th Annual Tournament-Saturday, July 21st....just click on the entry form Golf Tournament Entry Form for 2012 Tournament ....print out and mail in as soon as possible to reserve your spot in our Tournament.  You will need to send a check or pay with PayPal with your entry to reserve your spot.

Since its inception in 1999, the Scholarship Golf Tournament, organized by the Gator Club® of Volusia County, has raised net proceeds of close to $162,000.00 with over $8,500.00 raised in 2011!!!! This money benefits the Club's Scholarship Foundation for high school students entering the University of Florida.  With the help of the Tournament over the year's, the Club in 2009, attained the goal of reaching $100,000.00 into our Club's Scholarship Endowment Fund at The University...The State of Florida will match 50% of the monies in our Fund, which will make $150,000.00.  Our goal now is to begin a new Fund...reach our next goal of $100,000 and this will help many more students attending UF in the future.  WAY TO GO GATORS!!!!

The tournament brings together individual and corporate Gator fans, promoting great Gator times, renewing old friendships, and developing new ones. There are hundreds of students entering the University of Florida from Volusia County each year. The scholarship contributions from the Gator Club® of Volusia County are awarded to deserving students to help offset their educational expenses.

This tournament helps make it all possible.

The golf course is always in immaculate condition. Thanks to Halifax Plantation-Darren Bache (Golf Course Superintendent and UF Grad) for the great shape--always in great condition, Jonathan Needham (Club Manager), Jason Dowman (Head Golf Professional) and Stephanie Fleming (Events Manager).

A special thank you needs to go to Gale Lemerand.  Gale has been matching the Scholarship Funds from the Orange & Blue Scholarship Sponsor level.  This is a great gesture by Gale to show his support of the Golf Tournament and the kids from Volusia County---THANKS GALE! 

Also special thanks needs to go to Bambi Morgan and her fine staff of volunteers that always keep the tournament organized....registration and set-up for the tournament.  Bambi also organized the raffle prizes and how smoothly everything went!  THANKS TO BAMBI and her Volunteers!  Bambi's volunteers in 2011 were:  Amanda Albert, Pamela Roberts, Leanne Siegfried, Donna Kearns, Dorrine Dailey -  Larry Siegfried and Tim Gryzwa who helped us for setup and keeping the beverages cold!  A surprise guests this year were two of our 2011 Scholarship winners-Brent and Blake Dailey from Spruce Creek HS and a very special thanks goes to Walt Thrush...who was our official photographer!
