General Manager/Editor Marty Cohen

Marty Cohen has been associated with Gator Bait Magazine for more than 20 years, serving as Editor since 1991
and adding the responsibilities of General Manager in June 2000.

A 1982 University of Florida graduate, Marty joined the Gator Bait staff in the summer of 1981 after spending the previous
 two years with the student-run Independent Florida Alligator. In his early years at Gator Bait, he also worked as a
 correspondent for the Orlando Sentinel and Tallahassee Democrat among other state newspapers, and had
 freelance stories published in papers such as The Boston Globe, Newsday, Houston Post and Memphis Commercial-Appeal.

In between stints at Gator Bait in the 1980's, Marty also worked as a sportswriter for the Fort-Myers News-Press,
was the Editor of The Buccaneer, a sports weekly covering the Tampa Bay Bucs, and was a sports copy editor at Florida
TODAY in Melbourne, before returning to Gator Bait for good in 1991.

Marty is also the co-host of Gator Beat, a weekly television show during the
Gator football season on WUFT-Channel 5 in Gainesville.

The author of a book on Florida football history called "Gator Tales: Stories, Stats and Stuff About Florida Football,"
published in 1995, Marty is also a popular public speaker and has been the guest speaker at Gator Clubs
around the state of Florida. A native New Yorker, Marty is passionate about the Rangers, Yankees and Giants,
and also enjoys music, bowling, weightlifting, anything Springsteen and spending time with his family and friends.
